The Lakeside Custom Build Process
There are lots of different ways to start your custom home building process. Let’s get started!
Initial Meeting
We start with an initial meeting to learn about what you are looking for in a new home. We’ll discuss design ideas, style preferences, location, and budget; research costs versus benefits for all building components. You’ll have a chance to look through our portfolio of completed projects and to meet some of our team members. You’ll leave having a better understanding of what it means to build a new home, and we’ll begin putting some of your ideas onto paper.
Design & Project Planning
Next we’ll move into the planning phase where we offer a full range of design services for your home. Expanding on developments from our initial meeting, we’ll continue to work on perfecting the layout of your home. We’ll help you in making informed decisions about the details of your project including size, interior and exterior style, as well as any sustainable living options you might want. At the completion of this stage, we’ll provide you with accurate pricing and outline the specifications, as well as any detailed engineering that may be required for your project.
Construction
Once contracts are signed we will begin building your home. Throughout the construction process, we provide detailed management of the project including:
- Schedule and meet on site with every stage of the construction process
- Review any change orders with the client and affected contractors
- Maintain quality control
- Arrange for and attend all required inspections
- Accompany the client on a any required or requested walk-though(s)
We will continue to work closely with you determining design decisions for both the interior and exterior. We also provide an online portal where you can watch the progress of your home by seeing the project calendars, make your design selections, and keep in contact with our team about any questions or changes.
Closing Day
The most exciting day of the project, closing day, will come after your home is all finished up and we have received a certification of occupancy from the town. You’ll be the homeowner of a unique new home of exceptional quality and structural integrity.
